POWERFUL HOMOGENEOUS AND HETEROGENEOUS HOMO- AND HETERO NANOSTRUCTURED METAL CATALYSTS GENERATED USING METAL VAPOURS AS CHEMICAL REAGENTS

THE CATALYSTS CONTAIN VERY SMALL METAL PARTICLES (< 5 nm) UNIFORMELY DISTRIBUTED and ARE LARGELY MORE ACTIVE AND SELECTIVE THAN PRESENTLY AVAILABLE COMMERCIAL SAMPLES

THE THIRTY-YEAR skilfulness and EXPERIENCE OF PISA GROUP, at THE ICCOM-CNr of pisa, ON METAL VAPOUR CHEMISTRY, aRE THE groundwork of the current production and application of these new generation catalysts

Metal Vapour when reacting with weakly stabilizing ligand (solvent) at low temperature gives the product of Solvated Metal Atoms containing metal microclusters stabilized by the solvent.

Solvated Metal Atoms can be used as homogeneous catalytic precursors and as a source of active metal nanoparticles to produce supported and unsupported catalysts (Scheme).
